The evaluation of loops and resurveying in some large cave systems in the Bernese Oberland have shown that many unexpected errors in surveying are caused by incorrect or careless handling of the instruments and also in violating the basic rules of surveying. The following article will try to draw your attention towards the major principles and sources of errors while surveying a route.
